Preah Vihear, Koh Ker and Beng Melea

Accompanied by Sokhom and John the ride goes towards Preah Vihear.
It is a temple on the Cambodian side of the Thai border, occasionally fervently claimed by the Thais. Climb up between signes warning for mines. We find a rustic accommodation in the back of the market and take a stroll along the minefield. The temple will be visited twice, during sunset and sunrise.
Next place to stay is Siyong, a very local place. The hotel staff is kind of drunk. Near are some more broken stones. Koh Ker was the capital of the kingdom in the 10th century for 17 years on a whim of Jayavarman IV.
The morning after Koh Ker is revisited and Beng Melea added to our list of places seen and experienced.
