For start we sail to Hesteyrarfjörður.
In the beginning wind pushes us on, then it starts to work against the boat, the sail is packed away and engine turned on. Wind rolls snow along the mountains.
Hesteyri was once the biggest village on this peninsula. Now it is just the biggest herd of houses. They're empty in the winter. We anchor ourselves in the bottom of the fjord. Today I get snow shoes for a change. It is better to turn around with them and I don't slide anywhere. Feels almost like hiking. The cloud is thick but colorful.
Icelandic meat soup and cheese cake for dinner.
