Drive north continues.
First stop in McLeod Ganj, twin village of Dharamsala. We spend a day there pretending to acclimatize. We're about 1300 meters higher now than Amritsar was. Actually we just don't do anything. The village consists of three streets and even the cow does't have a better idea than just to walk back and forth. I study some Sanskrit and make some instant friends in the process. Rest of the time is filled with sleeping, eating, enjoying the views and visiting the temple. It's not so hot anymore which is nice.
After two days we continue to Manali, the beginning of the Himalayas. Where the snow rests. I get to eat in a roadside dhaba with the driver on the way. Despite some weak protest from Martti. Eating in roadside dhabas is not allowed. The food is tasty though.
Manali is a popular overnight stop before people continue into mountains towards Leh. We say Raju goodbye and meet our new driver. He does not speak much so I never find out his name.
