moving to Unst

Fighting starlings on top of the tent don’t encourage us to sleep long.
Today we move to Unst where we have again the option of sleeping in a house. But forst we go to Hermanness Nature Reserve. There are puffins, of course, but the huge gannet colony is much more impressive. Their clucking fills the air, as does guano smell. In the middle of the hullabaloo fly silently some great skuas.
Going northwards is possible to get a glimpse of Muckle Flugga lighthouse which used to be the northernmost inhabited place in Britain until it was automated in1995. Further north are only Out Stack and the North Pole.
