We finally see the entire sky blue, no clouds.
So it’s a perfect day to climb da Sneug which is
the highest point of Foula and second highest in Shetland. Great skuas guard
the valleys and sheep have already been everywhere. Scraps of wool and
excrement are clear signs. From the top we can see Ronas Hill.
Walking back along the road it is possible to admire the whole set of car wrecks the island has to offer. Using small islands as garbage dumps is sadly not unique to Foula.
Later in the evening I go out and try to find the common snipe who can be heard constantly. She or he hides well. The pipits get used to me and line up.
