I walk the route Guðrunarløkur-Skarvanes-Dalur-Húsavík-Guðrunarløkur
From
Skarvanes to Dalur it is even marked, this time with blue poles. But from the
beginning to Skarvanes are local peasants not expecting a hiker but have used
the method of totally closed sheep fence gate. Every fence can be climbed over
of course.
The
first stretch crosses over a rather flat pasture. Behind my back forms a huge
white cloud. The second part climbs over a mountain side and down to Dalur.
View on Dímun
islands, Skúvoy and Suðuroy again. The trail actually ends in Dalur from where to
the car is about the same distance either the same way back or along the road. The road balances above the
sea and gives me an opportunity to visit Húsavík. Otherwise such an opportunity
arises only in Iceland. On the notice board in Húsavík is a sign that since
water is not sterilized it has to be boiled before drinking.
All
together this makes 16 and half kilometers.
