We skip some of the coastline. It is flat and rather uneventful around here, especially compared to what we have already seen. At Ollaberry we have to hold on our ice-creams tightly so that wind does not take them with it.
Some fence climbing, some mud and swamp. Some angry arctic terns. We watch hay-making and have a good view on Sullom Voe oil terminal, one of the biggest in Europe.
A sheltered campsite is essential today. Big is our surprise when we find a small forest in Sullom. This miniature ecosystem makes for a perfect wind-proof camping ground, whether it is meant for that or not. Wind chases above us but down at the tent level just mild raindripping can be heard.
